Life Drawing with Tanya Cunnington

Discover the human form at OMAH’s Life Drawing program, and explore silhouette, movement, proportion and gesture. Our expert instructor will use traditional and contemporary approaches to guide participants in drawing live models, challenging them to use both technical and perceptual skills to capture the human form. This program is suitable for all skill levels – beginners welcome. Please note that this course will feature both clothed and nude models.

Basic drawing materials (and easels) provided.

Wine & Paint Night with Murray Van Halem

Looking for a fun night out? Come to down to OMAH and make some art (and have a drink while you do it). Our artist instructor, Murray Van Halem will gently guide you through the process of creating a masterpiece, even if you have never touched a paintbrush. Materials and two drinks are included in the class fee.

Paint a City Scape; visit the principles of perspective, colour, and design. Follow along step-by-step with the instructor or bring their own reference material and freestyle!

Beginners welcome! Space is limited, please register early.

Hand building with Clay with Heather Kerslake

**This course will be held at the Kerslake Pottery Studio on Line 10 North at Horseshoe Valley Road, Oro-Medonte

Participants will work with Heather Kerslake at her studio to learn various clay techniques in order to build creative clay forms. Working with slabs, coils and more, students will be introduced to how different tools can be used to shape and mark clay to create patterns, textures or narratives. After firing, Heather will teach the class how to use stains and glazes to alter the surface and add colour to your work.

Bio:
Heather Driver Kerslake works mainly in terra cotta, producing pieces that are whimsical, often mythical, and sometimes humorous. Her work involves functional pottery and sculptural pieces, ranging in scale from majolica-decorated wine goblets to larger hand-built narrative sculptures. Heather graduated from Alfred University, New York. Her work is in numerous private collections and public galleries, and has been exhibited widely.

Materials to be supplied by student: apron, sketchbook, pencil, eraser 

8 students maximum

Cost:

MEMBERS = $195 + HST

NON-MEMBERS = $235 + HST

Material Fee: $40 – Includes Clay, Glazes, Stains & Firing (to be paid October 19 at studio)

Baby Art Crawl

Art is for everyone!  Babies, toddlers and caregivers are invited for gallery tours and baby friendly art play. Engage your baby with art during an interactive and sensory tour of our art exhibits followed by hands-on art making in the studio! Please, wear play clothes.
