You're Invited to The Orillia Regional Arts & Heritage Awards!

For many years, the Orillia & District Arts Council (ODAC) and Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) have recognized excellence within the cultural sector with separate awards nights for arts and heritage, respectively, but this is about to change. On November 27, 2019, the two organizations will come together to celebrate the best and brightest from the sector at the first ever Orillia Regional Arts & Heritage Awards.
There will be a cash bar, refreshments, music by The Little Big Band and a chance to fete our region's creatives and historians! Admission is FREE!
The Nominees are:
Education in the Arts, Culture and Heritage Award: Leanne Young, Orillia Secondary School and the Otter Art Club run by Naomi Woodman and Travis Shilling.
Emerging Artist Award: Craig Mainprize and Mary Jo Pollak.
Heritage: Restoration, Renovation and Publication Award: Friends of the Washago Water Tower.
Event in the Arts, Culture and Heritage Award:  The Chippewas of Rama First Nation Annual Pow Wow Committee, Mariposa Folk Festival, Orillia Heritage Centre, and Starry Night Studio and Gallery Tour.
The Qennefer Browne Achievement Award recognizes an individual or group of individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the cultural life of their community. It was named in honour of Qennefer Browne, who gave much of herself to support both arts and heritage organizations within the region. This year’s nominees are Leslie Fournier and Linda Tiffin.
Please pass this invitation along to all your friends and members and come out to enjoy a spectacular evening of fun, music, and socializing!
See you there!
