The Lounge Gallery
Steph Whalen’s Reverie is a collection of playful acrylic ink illustrations that push beyond the boundaries of how we see the world around us. Childhood daydreams create a bounty of possibilities for this new suite of works. Steph's gift is that her imagination is unlimited. We hope that Reverie brings you joy in unexpected ways.
Steph Whalen (b. 1978) spent her childhood catching frogs and building snow forts in Pine Point, N.W.T. When the town closed in 1988, her family relocated to Orillia where she resides today with her husband and two children. Steph is proud to be part of the thriving Orillia art scene, and has participated in Streets Alive! since 2016. She has also partnered with both the Orillia Public Library and Lakehead University to provide social art learning events where adult participants of all abilities are encouraged to engage in a truly dynamic experience. A self taught artist, Steph creates few limits for herself, working on paper, wood and canvas with acrylic, watercolour and ink. Her work is continually evolving as she continues to develop a style that is uniquely hers.
