Although Group of Seven artist Franklin Carmichael was born and buried in Orillia, very little is known about the time he spent here. That’s why OMAH is producing this three-part series of posts on his life in our city titled History Mystery: Franklin Carmichael.

For many years, the Orillia & District Arts Council (ODAC) and Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) have recognized excellence within the cultural sector with separate awards nights for arts and heritage, respectively, but this is about to change.
 
Due to falling ice and snow, The City of Orillia has closed off our front entrance and the alleyway beside Tiffins Creative Centre. For your safety, we ask that you please use the back entrance to OMAH. The back entrance is located by the Mariposa Market parking lot on Colborne Street East.
