100x100 Fundraising Success!
On Friday, April 15, the Orillia Museum of Art & History was the place to be with the opening reception of Roger Kerslake: Potter, Artist, Teacher as well as the much anticipated 100x100 fundraiser.
The 100x100 event was inspired by OCAD University's 'Who Done it?' and became the brainchild of OMAH board member, Liz Kernaghan and our Executive Director, Ninette Gyorody who thought it would be a unique event for our community.
100 artists, 100 original works of art, 100 tickets.
As it turned out, when OMAH put out the call for artists, 123 responded and took up the challenge of creating an original, one of a kind work for this event. New and emerging artists as well as those well-established in the local community, all in a variety of mediums, were on display. We are thankful for the enthusiastic and overwhelming interest from these artists who believe in OMAH as a cultural community hub.
With the enthusiastic response from ticket purchasers, we are pleased to announce that the inaugural 100x100 event raised just over $13,000 for OMAH's programmes which will enable us to expand our cultural activities. It is with immense gratitude that we thank you.
Thank you to our event contributors:
