Roots: Orillia's Young Emerging Artists

Saturday, July 21, 2018 to Sunday, September 23, 2018

‘Roots’ showcases three emerging artists who are honing their artistic abilities while establishing their careers as artists. The title of this exhibition reflects not only the artists’ origins in the Orillia area, but the shared motif of nature incorporated within their works.

  • Jordyn Bell (Lofty Pines Pottery)
  • Craig Mainprize (Mainprize Art)
  • Heather Price-Jones (Floral & Fauna)

Through Jordyn Bell’s organic and earthy pottery pieces, Craig Mainprize’s striking colour-blocked landscapes, and Heather Price-Jones’ thought-provoking graphic collages, ‘Roots’ aims to share the talents of these young artists in their home community and show that art is not just an object, but an experience. As such, throughout the exhibition each artist will use the gallery as a studio space, inviting the public to interact with them and observe their artistic process.
