In this hands-on workshop series, Murray van Halem will guide participants through the principles of portrait painting, from the dimensions of the face, to the importance of light and shadow, and capturing character. Murray will share techniques and teach participants important portrait-painting skills, which he has acquired through his 45 year career as a visual artist. By the end of this program, participants will have completed a series of portraits to take home.

All skill levels are welcome. Participants are required to bring their own painting supplies. A list will be provided to those who register.

 

 

Cost:

Member: $120 + HST

Non-member: $150 + HST

 

Pre-registered programs cancelled 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the program start date will receive a full-refund. Programs cancelled less than 2 weeks (14 days) prior to the start of the program are non-refundable. Any program cancelled by the Orillia Museum of Art & History will be fully refunded regardless of the time of cancellation.
