Virtual Annual General Meeting
All members are invited to attend and participate in OMAH’s annual general meeting scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 16th at 7:00 pm?. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the board decided to defer the date of our AGM from June to September. At this point, we do not know whether the meeting will be held in person at the museum or via Zoom. Further details will be provided by the end of August.
AGM materials will be posted to a page on OMAH’s website.
Our guest speaker this year will be Wil Kucey from Canadian Fine Arts, a dealer located in Yorkville. In honour of the 100th anniversary of the Group of Seven’s first show, Canadian Fine Arts has put together a special exhibit. Wil will be presenting several pieces from the exhibit along with a Franklin Carmichael watercolour that we hope to acquire for the museum. More details to come on this exciting opportunity!
Finally, OMAH has four open board positions and is seeking individuals interested in being nominated for election as a director at the AGM. In addition to an interest in our mandate, board members bring a variety of diverse skills together representative of the community in Orillia and surrounding townships. In particular, at this time we are seeking directors with prior volunteer leadership experience or those with a legal or financial background. If you are interested, please complete the board application form found on the website (see attachment at bottom of the page) and return it to Doug Frost, Governance Chair, by email HERE.
We hope you will plan to attend the AGM (in person or via Zoom) on September 16th. Please save the date and watch for further details.
