The Art of Yoga

 

After School Art

Starting Thursday, October 6, 4:45pm - 6pm for 10 weeks

Ages 8-12

This class is geared for kids who love art! We will offer a variety of creative projects - from drawing to painting, printmaking to clay and sculptures with found objects. Participants will also have opportunities to make and create in the galleries at the Orillia Museum of Art & History.

Life Drawing with Lois Green

Starting October 6, 2016 for 10 weeks on Thursdays from 7-10pm

Join regional artist, Lois Green, for ten weeks of Life Drawing classes at OMAH. Instruction in drawing from the nude model with lessons in life studio practices - a valuable discipline for practising artists and a foundational prepatory for animators through fine arts. Traditional and contemporary approaches will be utilized toward a heightened observational capactiy and improved media proficiency.

Family Fun Drop In

It's back! Family Fun Drop In returns Sundays at OMAH starting on October 2 from 2-3pm. This drop in program encourages families with children of all ages to get creative and explore new art activities - with no strings attached! A $5 donation is encouraged to cover materials.

The Art of Yoga

Six weeks running October 13, 20, 27, November 10, 17, 24 on Thursdays from 7-8pm

NEW! We are happy to welcome Yoga instructor Rosanna Shillolo from Sunrise Yoga Studio for The Art of Yoga. Focus your mind and body while increasing your strength, endurance and flexibility surrounded by the art and history artefacts of OMAH's exhibitions as we bring yoga into the museum.

Non-Objective Experimental Painting & Mixed Media

Saturday, October 22, 10am-4pm

Ages 16+

Beginning with the basics of painting and developing new techniques using experimental media and alternative approaches to building composition, get inspiration and gain an understanding of where aesthetic linage stems from. This includes collage, photography, various drawing media, painting, water soluble oils or acrylic paint on old paintings, cut canvas, wood panels, sewn painted surfaces.
