Olivia Neal is the owner and curator of Harold + Ferne: The Local Goods Co., a small shop located in Downtown Orillia dedicated to selling quality goods made by local artists and artisans. She was originally introduced to the art of weaving while living in Argentina in 2010. After a bit of a hiatus she has been immersing herself in this textural craft for past two years, expanding on her knowledge of the trade.
Olivia began hosting weaving workshops at Harold + Ferne: The Local Goods Co. in 2016 where they were very well received by the community. She enjoys spreading her growing love of textiles to others while introducing them, through workshops, to a new medium in which to explore the wondrous fibres both found in nature and man-made.
She has recently been dipping her toes into the pool of natural dying and hopes to one day work exclusively with her own hand-dyed natural fibres.
