Lunch & Learn: Creativity in Fibre
Wednesday, March 1, 2017 12-1pm
Join award-winning fibre artist Tracey Lawko for an inspiring slide lecture on Creativity in Fibre. Tracey will discuss the concept of creativity and reveal how her own fibre art has developed – inspired by childhood interests and continual experimentation. She will show many of her finely-stitched landscapes and richly-textured still-lifes that celebrate the natural world around her studio in the hills of the Niagara Escarpment. As Tracey presents her journey, she invites participants to consider their own creativity.
Tracey Lawko creates realistic landscapes and sculpted still-life in thread. An embroiderer, quilter, longarmer and textile artist, Tracey's artwork has been juried into many North American exhibitions and has been recognized with numerous awards. Her work is held in the permanent collection of the US National Quilt Museum and in private collections in North America and Europe.
